The Mossop Family
It was great to see the Mossop’s again for their family portrait photography session at Pizzey Park on the Gold Coast. I met the Mossop’s for the first time when I photographed them in 2014 for a family/maternity session, then I photographed Jayne again when their son James was just a few weeks old. Her glamour photographs are still some of my favourites! Fast forward to 2017 and that little baby is not a baby anymore and their two daughters Emma & Heather just blew me away by how tall they are getting!
Pizzey Park is such an amazing place to photograph families on the Gold Coast. Set on 150 acres in Miami, this sports and recreation precinct has something for everybody! I personally love the off-leash dog area because it features an amazing pine forest and a lake, parking is plentiful and there isn’t too much walking to get to the amazing spots!
We photographed the Mossop Family in the early afternoon, which meant that we could create some really beautiful backlight and images with incredible contrast. Emma & Heather are such amazing subjects to photograph as they love to laugh and smile – what a dream for me! James was a little more shy to begin with but luckily Jayne had brought along some lollies with her and funnily enough he perked right up when he spotted the snakes (of the sugary variety I should stress!)
The Mossop’s were the perfect example of what I suggest for wardrobe choices in a family shoot – neutrals with the same colour theme running through. Emma & Heather wore beige three quarter length tops with jeans and Jayne dressed James in a blue check button up shirt with jeans. Stuart kept the blue theme going with a pale blue polo shirt & denim jeans, while Jane pulled everything together with a royal blue short sleeved top and an aqua blue statement necklace.
It was so amazing to see how much Emma and Heather love their little brother James and how well they looked out for him! James’ future girlfriends better watch out with two protective sisters there to take care of him!
The family ordered a 20×30″ large canvas piece for their wall at home and an album – I can’t wait for their beautiful products to get to their forever home!
